One year ago, we took a leap of faith.

On July 3rd, 2025 we purchased this beautiful building from Anja and Thorsten, and our dream of bringing HIRS Sausage Market to Florida officially began.

What a year it has been!

We packed up our lives in NJ, sold our home, moved to Florida, and brought generations of Hungarian family recipes with us. Together with Anja's wonderful German traditions, we've built something truly special—a European market where Hungarian and German flavors come together under one roof.

 

Along the way, we celebrated our Soft Opening in September, our Grand Opening in October, welcomed Monika's European Kitchen to our building, returned to New Jersey for Christmas, Easter, and the Hungarian Festival as we promised our loyal customers, represented our heritage at the European Union Open House in Washington, D.C., and shipped our products to customers across the United States.

 

Most importantly, we've had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people and building friendships within our new Florida community.

None of this would have been possible without our incredible team—

Jozsef, Andrew, Anja, Jancsi, Erika, Misi, and our family, friends and every customer who walked through our doors, placed an online order, shared our posts, or simply believed in us.

From the bottom of our hearts... thank you.

As we celebrate the end of our first year, we're also preparing for another exciting chapter. We'll soon be traveling to Hungary to celebrate our daughter's Master's graduation and spend precious time with our family.

 

While our storefront will be closed for a few weeks, the work doesn't stop. Early August we'll be back in the kitchen and smokehouse preparing the sausages, salamis, hams, and other specialties that take time to craft. We believe the best products can't be rushed, and we want everything fresh and ready for you when we reopen.

 

We'll be back on August 26 with full shelves, fresh products, and lots of new energy for Year Two!

We'll miss you, but we'll be sharing photos from Hungary along the way, and we look forward to seeing all of you again very soon.

Our first year was built with hard work, family tradition, and your support. We can't wait to see what Year Two brings.
